Riverdance: The New 25th Anniversary Show is a powerful and stirring reinvention of this beloved family favourite, celebrated the world over for its Grammy Award-winning music and the thrilling energy and passion of its Irish and international dance. Composer Bill Whelan has rerecorded his mesmerising soundtrack while producer Moya Doherty and director John McColgan have completely reimagined the ground-breaking show with innovative and spectacular lighting, projection, stage and costume designs and many of the cast for this rescheduled tour are so young that they were not even born in the year that the show first opened; 1995 at the Point Theatre in Dublin! The 25th Anniversary show catapults Riverdance into the 21st century and will completely immerse audiences in the extraordinary and elemental power of its music and dance. The reaction from the UK audiences in the handful of shows that did run before the tour was curtailed was unbelievable.
Now - just a little more than twenty-five years on! - both new and devoted fans of all ages will once again fall in love with the magic of Riverdance – the original, the best.
It is Riverdance, but not as you have ever seen it before.

It has just been announced that Sam Bailey will be appearing as Mrs Potts in the Disney tour of Beauty And The Beast, which unfortunately means she is no longer available to appear in Sleeping Beauty.
Sam Bailey said: “I will miss the audiences at the De Montfort Hall so much this Christmas, I have enjoyed appearing in the pantomime there so much over the last four years, it’s like my second home, but I just couldn’t resist the opportunity of playing Mrs Potts in the tour of Beauty And The Beast, a role I have always longed to play. I’m sure I won’t be able to have quite as much fun on stage as I do with the team at the De Montfort Hall though! I thank the staff at Imagine Theatre and De Montfort Hall for being so understanding and supportive of me.”
Steve Boden, Imagine Theatre’s Managing Director, said: “Sam has been a part of the Leicester pantomime family for a few years now and although she will be sorely missed we absolutely couldn’t have stood in her way of taking on this amazing role and opportunity. We fully support Sam in her decision, we wish her all the very best with the tour of Beauty And The Beast and hope to work with her again at some point in the future.”
More star casting will be announced following Sam's departure - watch this space for the latest news.
